The La Crosse Republican April
28, 1905 A Sudden
Death. Monday morning E. G. Gustin, of Whitewater,
Kansas, who has been here this and last summer with fine horses,
died at the Audas restaurant about five o'clock from apoplexy.
Deceased was a large man weighing upward of three hundred pounds and
about seventythree years old. He was an ex-confederate
soldier, a man of considerable natural ability, and well posted on
general information and of a happy, disposition. The remains were
taken to Whitewater for interment. Note:
Confederate status is from death notice only, and there are no
records of any Gustin's buried at Whitewater cemetery, as indicated
in the paper. Any information on this mystery is appreciated. |
