DEATH OF MATT EDMISTON
Occurred in Garden City This Morning.
Matt Edmiston, a well known citizen whose home is near Pierceville, died at the Helwig hospital this morning after a short siege of pneumonia. Mr. Edmiston was taken sick about a week ago and about the middle of last week came to the hospital for treatment. He was very low at the time and he continued to fail in strength until his death this morning.
.Mr. Edmiston was seventy years of age and he had never married. He was a native of Virginia and during the Civil war he was a soldier in the Confederate army: After the war he went to the state of Washington where he lived until about, ten years ago when he came to Kansas, settling in Gray county near Pierceville. He was well known in Garden City and he had a great many friends in both Gray and Finney county.
Mr. Edmiston was a brother of R. M. Edmiston and a cousin of Mrs. W. S. Renick and A. J. Edmiston. The funeral will be held at the residence of R. M. Edmiston at 11 o'clock Thursday morning.
