OBITUARY
M. J. Jordan was born at Staunton, Virginia, May 25, 1842; and departed this life July 12, 1929, at the age of 37 years, 1 month and 17 days.
He was united in Marriage to Miss Ellen Craun May 30, 1867. To this union were born fourteen children. During the Civil War, he served with the Confederate forces under General Stonewall Jackson.
He is survived by six sons: Zade Jordan of Mt. Hope; Lewis G. Jordan of Hutchinson; E. L.. Jordan of Duquoin, Kansas; Frank M. Jordan of Hanston, Kansas; James S. Jordan of Staunton, Virginia; Mohler Jordan of Wichita, Kansas; and four daughters: Luella Winkleman of Bloom, Kansas; Elsie Fleming of Wilmont, Kansas; Alma Purdin of Oatville, Kansas; and Laruna Butler of Douglass, Kansas; as well as a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren and other relatives and an army of friends.
